Troubled
editDear Doctormatt, you wrote on my page on me entering Ingrid Hornef to the site of Generic art and having named that a minor-edit. I must confess that the way to told me about it - and then didn't even react, when i explained it - keeps me worried. I don't know you and we never before have had contact. And then suddenly a person i don't know at all fires a gun at me as if i had committed the most terrible crime. The energy in your posting shocked me and keeps shocking me. I'm a sincere editor, i do my best to follow all the rules of wikipedia and i make one tiny mistake and am treated as if a was a criminal, whose intention was to deceive.... all would have been well, if you had reacted to my explanation in a friendly manner, but you didn't, leaving me the impression that i'm not even worth an answer... it troubles me a lot and i really would appreciate if you could write in a more friendly manner. Kind regards, Naomi Hennig (talk) 11:12, 18 March 2023 (UTC)
- Please see my message on your talk page. Cheers, DoctorMatt (talk) 18:13, 18 March 2023 (UTC)

Gaspard Monge and the Siege of Acre in 1799
editIt is a fact universally acknowledged, even by Wikipedia, that the Napoleonic siege of Acre started on March 20, 1799. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siege_of_Acre_(1799) Drz (talk) 00:01, 20 January 2024 (UTC)
- @Drz Okay. The source provided (in Gaspard Monge) says Monge returned in 1798. Feel free to provide a different source if you think that is not correct. Cheers! DoctorMatt (talk) 00:14, 20 January 2024 (UTC)
You must be kidding. Check any text book for the dates. Monge accompanied Napoleon on his way back to France leaving Cairo on 17 August and arrived in Saint-Raphaël on 9 October - 1799. Drz (talk) 00:30, 20 January 2024 (UTC)
- @Drz No, I'm not kidding. I do not disagree with you. You should replace the source given with a source that says 1799. The source in the article says, "they accompanied Bonaparte to Syria, and returned with him in 1798 to, France.". If you want to change 1798 to 1799, you need to provide a source; feel free to replace the one used in the article. If you don't know how to do that, just let me know and I will help you. Cheers!
