The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. Talk page messages

edit

Please read WP:TALK. New talk page messages go at the bottom, which is where everyone will be looking for them. If you post at the top of a talk page you are almost guaranteed that no one will see it. Chris Troutman (talk) 16:52, 8 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi: Please put the new messages you are posting at the bottom of the page (or click "New section"). I see you are still putting them at the top. Yngvadottir (talk) 16:06, 12 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Repeating venues

edit

I know you mean well, but could you at least check that you are not repeating the message about leaflets at wikiprojects you have already visited? You've posted twice at Wikiproject Trains. Yngvadottir (talk) 15:13, 25 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Information icon  Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (  or  ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Leaflet for wikiproject Mathematics at Wikimania 2014

edit

Thanks for your message. In the event, there seemed to be no support at WT:WPM for having such a leaflet. Deltahedron (talk) 18:46, 16 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

On the leaflets

edit

Just wondering: by when do they have to be complete if they are to be present at Wikimania 2014? Double sharp (talk) 15:28, 18 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi Double sharp, you will need to have a leaflet completed by June 1st. Adikhajuria (talk) 18:19, 18 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
Hasn't that date already passed? Double sharp (talk) 03:54, 19 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
My sinere apologies. That was a typo. The deadline is 1st July, not 1st June.
Thank you. How's my preliminary version at WT:ELEM#Leaflet For Elements At Wikimania 2014? Double sharp (talk) 16:34, 19 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
The preliminary one looks good. However we want to make sure that they intelligible to non-wikipedians. You need to make sure that you include a clear call to action. Try and include a clearer "call to action" - what are some specific ways they could get involved? We think Wikiproject Military History is a good example to follow.

FYI left message at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Libertarianism#Leaflet_for_Wikiproject_Libertarianism_at_Wikimania_2014Wikiproject libertarianism with draft to a leaflet on Wikipedia since I have a problem signing in to WM 2103 with my current logon. Have email in to EdS but he sound pretty busy. If it seems ok, maybe you could upload it? Carolmooredc (Talkie-Talkie) 15:39, 3 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Leaflets deadline

edit

Hey Adikhajuria thanks for putting the notice for Wikimania 2014 leaflets on the WikiProject Motorcycling page. Somehow I missed it and it doesn't look like anybody else in the project took action. When will be the next opportunity for us to get involved? — Brianhe (talk) 22:04, 20 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

HiBrianhe,

The next opportunity to get involved will be in Wikimania 2015. I would suggest signing up to the Wikimania-l email list. Once you're on there, link them to the project leaflets page on the Wikimania 2014 wiki(http://wikimania2014.wikimedia.org/wiki/Project_Leaflets) and tell the organisers of Wikimania 2015 to take this idea on board for Wikimania 2015. By the way, EdSaperia was the guy who originally had the idea for project leaflets for Wikimania 2014.
Hope that helps
Kind regards,
Adikhajuria (talk) 10:09, 24 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi Brianhe, I won't be commissioning any more leaflets, but that doesn't mean that you can't organise to have one created for your project yourself. We'll be releasing the templates etc soon. And, as Adi mentioned, the Wikimania 2015 team might like to pick the project up, but I can't guarantee that. EdSaperia (talk) 10:22, 24 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, Adikhajuria and EdSaperia. First thing I think we need to do is get organized to create art for this -- there's no cool project logo or imagery (yet). Should be plenty of time to do it for Wikimania 2015. — Brianhe (talk) 17:48, 24 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
