The vandal has been given a final warning. If he does not stop, he will be blocked. --Whiteandnerdy111 (talk) 23:16, 23 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

By vandal, I meant the user Lynx515 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log). The one who put insults here before. If you wish to know more about Wikipedia Vandalisim, see here. -- Whiteandnerdy111 (talk) 00:32, 24 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
Look - do you want me to adopt you and teach you how to edit? -- Whiteandnerdy111 (talk) 01:00, 24 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
Basically, I just tell you how you edit correctly, give you tips and pointers through this page and can help you. Adoption lasts for as long as it is needed. All I am after is just a YES or NO answer. I strongly reccomend adoption, as it will help you. -- Whiteandnerdy111 (talk) 01:06, 24 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Adoption

I have placed what I would like you to do for the next two weeks here. It appears a lot of work, but again, it should take two weeks. It contains key Wikipedia policys, and other stuff. Good luck and Merry Christmas! -- Whiteandnerdy111 (talk) 02:04, 24 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

helpme

Ummm,,, Can someone help me with all of this? I have no idea what I'm doing and I need someone to reduce this work. Since the original person who gave it to me is blocked for a year.--CherryBlossom93 (talk) 19:28, 9 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

From the short amount that I have read about the user, he is not an exlemplary user ;) You you not need to read all that content straight away, but when you come to the point of needing to read it. I would suggest that you read Wikipedia:Five pillars to give you some background information on what to do and what not-to-do. That should only take you a few minutes. If I were you I would then take the advice on that page and be bold - go and find a page which interests you, edit it, improve it! I'll be along tomorrow and see if I can give you some advice! Have fun! If you need help, feel free to contact me on my talk page and I would be happy to help. Tiddly-Tom 20:01, 9 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
thx for helping.... So what do i do with all the stuff he gave me? —Preceding unsigned comment added by CherryBlossom93 (talkcontribs) 20:04, 9 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
You are welcome. Don't worry about the stuff he gave you, just leave it alone, it might come in use later. Don't forget to sign your posts with ~~~~ after every message left on talk pages so users know who and when they are talking to someone. It will create a signature similar to this: Tiddly-Tom 20:08, 9 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi.

edit

You don't need permission to edit an article. Zazaban (talk) 03:08, 10 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

It depends on the level of protection. Most article are not protected - meaning anyone can edit them. Some articles are given Semi-Protection meaning that only auto-confirmed users can edit them. By this I mean users who have been on Wikipedia for 5 days. I don't know if you meet this criteria. If you don't, you will soon ;) Full-Protection means that only Administrators can edit them. User Boxes

edit

ok srry.. oh where do the userboxes come from? or whatever there called.--CherryBlossom93 (talk) 20:16, 9 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Here is the directory of them. Pick the ones you want, put them in a message here or on my talk page and I will put them onto your user page if you like. Tiddly-Tom 07:09, 10 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
That is done- very quickly. You may have them in two colloums if you like, it is up to you. If it is not perfect - tell me what is not perfect and I will see if I can help! I have not added: User age
If you want you, you can specify your age/date of birth and I will add them. You have identified yourself as a teen and therefore I strongly advice you not to give out your date of birth to people you do not know in real life. Tiddly-Tom 19:17, 10 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
I will give my age but not my date of birth as you said.... I'm 14. Can u help me fix my page tho? —Preceding unsigned comment added by CherryBlossom93 (talkcontribs) 19:20, 10 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
I have added the age user box and the two you placed on my user talk page. You asked if I could help to fix your page - what do you mean by this - what would you like me to do? If I am able to do it - I would be happy to do it :) Tiddly-Tom 19:27, 10 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 19:22, 10 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

My userpage

edit

My page is very boring. I don't know exactly what i want done to it... Maybe organizing it? I dunno. I would like to do it my self but I have no idea how. Like where do you get all the colors? Srry I keep forgetting to sign my posts. I'm teaching my little brothers and they make my head hurt :))--CherryBlossom93 (talk) 19:35, 10 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

You could write about what you do on Wikipedia? Some thoughts on it... what you hope to do? What interests you? The colours are somewhat more complicated. I'll make a simple colour background and boarder for you if you like, just pick the colours! I cant promise to do it tonight, but soon. Tiddly-Tom 19:40, 10 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
If you look around some other users pages - mine, User:ArielGold is a very good example (and a very nice user!) for ideas about what to write. I will sort your user page tomorrow hopefully, at around 7 am I guess - it is top of my list of things to do ;) Tiddly-Tom 20:02, 10 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
Two columns done, and pretty backgrounds done on both your pages. What you think, more importantly - how can we improve? Tiddly-Tom 06:19, 11 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks

edit

Oh Thank you! It looks very nice! I guess I could put something about me on the first page or something. How do I separate the page into different sections tho? Oh I have a question... It has nothing to do with the page tho.;) Are the times in England the same as in the states? I've always wanted to go there. Well Thx again!--CherryBlossom93 (talk) 13:52, 11 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

You are very welcome, as always! You would split it up into sections excaly the same as you would an article, or indeed this page by using:
== NAME OF SECTION ==

With regard to the time - no it is not the same time here as it is for you. That would mean it would be light here during the night and dark there during the day (or partly at least) we are off set by about 5 hours. Right now it is half past 5. If you look in the page history, see what time I left this message, and you will be able to work hour how long ago I left this and somehow how much of a shift there is. Thank you so much for the barn star - I really appreciate it ;) I'm quite busy right now, I'll be back and explain images to you later. (You might be able to work it out from Wp:IMAGE) Thanks again, Tiddly-Tom 17:31, 11 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hey r u still busy? Could u help me now?--CherryBlossom93 (talk) 23:04, 11 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Just got home - it is 11pm here - been DJing. To start off with, I would suggest you find some pictures already on wikipedia - take a look here for some pretty ones. If you find a few you like, give me them names and I will instruct you what to do to add them to your user page. If you want to add some from your computer - I would only suggest adding them if they are also going to be used in articles - I am not sure if adding them just for your user page is allowed. Re:Gallery

edit

Hi Tom, Does Wikipedia have a gallery? or does it have modern pics of Sana'a? I just came back from there a few months ago and it doesn't look anything like the pictures I have on my page.--CherryBlossom93 (talk) 21:07, 13 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

There are some pictures on the San‘a’ page but they do not look modern. If they are not on that page, it would be hard to find them. Maybe you took some photos when you were there that we could use? Tiddly-Tom 06:15, 14 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
I found it on ebay actually... My best friend wants one and I found it to send to her. I don't know anything about copyright.--CherryBlossom93 (talk) 18:36, 14 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
Do you intend on using it in an article? If not, I suggest you email it to your friend. Policies regarding this: Non-Fair Use content, Wikipedia is not for storing images. If you intend on using it in an article - contact me and we can talk about using it, if not, please add db-g7 to the image description page. Tiddly-Tom 18:49, 14 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
Ok, Have a read through this - see if you can work out what you have to do. Tiddly-Tom 19:34, 14 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
If everyone took that attitude, Wikipedia would not be what it is today. We need to fill out some Non-free use rationale - Give a go filling in the fields here:
 • Article =
 • Description =
 • Source =
 • How much have you used =
 • Is it low resolution =
 • Purpose of user =
 • Is it replaceable =

(Write next to each '=' sign. See here for help. Tiddly-Tom 19:53, 14 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ok. You understand that you are not allowed to copy other people stuff (eg Pictures) due to Copyright. On Wikipdia we can use some copyrighted material if we claim fair use. To do this, we need to fill in the above, I have expanded below.
 • Which article do you want to use the picture in? The BarbieGirls.com article.
 • Description (What is it a picture of?)= A BarbieGirls MP3
 • Where did you get the picture? from Ebay
 • How much of the picture have you used? (Have you cropped it?) = No. It's the original.
 • Is it of low resolution = It is only 0.16 megapixles and therefore not suitable for production of counterfeit goods. (I filled this in for you - I think it is OK)
 • Purpose = It is a means of visual identification of the subject by illustrastrating the topic of the article. (I filled this in for you - I think it is OK)
 • Replaceability (Basicaly, could someone take a photo of the doll?) = I believe so.

Try and fill them in. Tiddly-Tom 07:09, 15 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ok, I did not realise what BarbieGirls.com was. I don't think it is replaceable (with a free version) as any screenshot would also be non-free use. I'll go ahead and add the fair use rational. Tiddly-Tom 18:47, 15 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
Can you add a link to where the immage is from (a URL) to the image description page. Thanks Tiddly-Tom 19:19, 15 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
I understand the basics of eBay. Can you give me the website address of the item which was being sold using the image. So not just www.ebay.com but instead with all the bit at the end - if you know what I mean ;) Tiddly-Tom 19:42, 16 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
Ok, I have added that, thanks. The image is ready to be placed into the article. Tiddly-Tom 20:37, 16 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (Image:BarbieGirl MP3.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:BarbieGirl MP3.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 04:29, 17 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

RE:Hi

Hey, Are you talking about the welcome to my user pages one? If you are, I can make one for you, using your colour scheme if you like? Tiddly-Tom 06:58, 23 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Done. What do you think. If you would prefer a diffrent colour any where, just let me know! Tiddly-Tom 19:20, 23 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
The first one is simple :) Pretend you are editing an article, and you want to add a paragraph to a section. You click [edit] at the top right of the section. For example, look along the line where it says RE:Hi and click on [edit]. Add your reply at the bottom. There is one thing which makes it a little harder. You may have noticed that my replies are indented. To do this you place ':' at the beginning of your message to make the first indent, if you are replying to an indented message, place '::' and so on to make larger indents. See here for an example.
The second is a little harder. Is it a photo or a video? Did you make it, or take it? If the answer is no, it is unlikely you will be able to have it on your user page. Reply (using the above method ;) ) on my talk page :P Tiddly-Tom 06:57, 24 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
Half way there :P You forgot the indent! If you got it out of an email, is is very unlikely you can use it on your user page, sorry! Tiddly-Tom 17:15, 24 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
You can reply to messages on your talk page, or the other persons. I prefer giving messages on their talk page and receiving on mine, as this will produce the big orange 'You have new messages' when someone leaves me a message. This does produce a disjointed conversation however. Many people state at the top of their talk page how they want messages, so it is best to follow what they say. Tiddly-Tom 20:16, 25 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
No apostrophe's! Yes there are small animations on wikipedia - for example this. Tiddly-Tom 20:27, 25 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Re:Huh?

edit

If you look at the code for the message you left it was:

'::' Alright, like this?? Ok thats fine... do they have any on wikipedia? I mean small graphics? Thanks.:))
--CherryBlossom93 (talk) 19:04, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

When it should be:

:: Alright, like this?? Ok thats fine... do they have any on wikipedia? I mean small graphics? Thanks.:))
--CherryBlossom93 (talk) 19:04, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

See the difference? Tiddly-Tom 20:32, 25 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

You put '::' before your message when it should just be :: give it a go... It does not have to be strictly wikipedia related, but it is good to be related ;) Tiddly-Tom 20:52, 25 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
Just so you know, messages like your most recent ones to ArielGold's page are fine, even though they are not about an article on wikipedia. Tiddly-Tom 20:55, 25 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
You got it - Great! Remember one : does small indent, :: does bigger and ::: even bigger and so on. I hate to read fiction books, it might be something to do with my Dyslexia, also means I am awful at spelling an so I use a spell checker on the messages I am writing to you now :P Perhaps you could find a book on a topic you like, and then use the knowledge you gain and edit a related wikipedia article to expand and improve it? Tiddly-Tom 20:59, 25 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

School

edit

I like the Sciences (split up into Biology, Chemistry and Physics at my school) and maths. We do all sorts of subjects. The ones I mentioned and French, History, Geography, RS, PHSE, English, Latin, Games, PE. I think that is it ;) Do you do the same? Did you get a book yesterday, feel like expanding an article based on what you read? Tiddly-Tom 22:08, 26 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

I studied Romeo and Juliet last year... Did not have a clue what they were talking about ;) I still dont see any edits to articles! Any ideas on what sort of article you might like expand on? Tiddly-Tom 18:20, 28 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
I'd prefer not say what grade I am in. I read the Wikipedia article on Cyber Schools - Very diffrent to what I am used to. How do they know you go to school? You might be able to edit that article to improve it :P Tiddly-Tom 18:29, 28 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
Because you should not give out personal information to people you do not know in real life. I have a task for you, should you chose to accept it! Edit the Kilnaboy article to do the following:
 • Make the first appearance of the title of the article bold by placing on each side of the word you want to make bold. For this article it would be the first word, excluding the things in the curly brackets {{
 • Make some of the words links. You do this by surrounding the word or phrase with square brackets. For example, to link the word Ireland to the article, Ireland, you put square brackets around it like this: Ireland while in edit mode.
 • Add stub at the end.
 • Remove and from the article.

Good luck! Tiddly-Tom 19:08, 28 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

That was very good! Well done :) That's the sort of thing you can do to pages here if you like :) Thats what I have been doing. Tiddly-Tom 19:48, 28 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Re:Editing Articles

edit

Hey, I should have explained this earlier. Full details can be found here. You only add the notice to pages which are quite short, and you can also add more specific ones. For example, if it was about a company, you could add company-stub. A full list of the different stubs is available here. Tiddly-Tom 06:23, 30 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Oh, And you always put them right at the end of an article. Tiddly-Tom 06:24, 30 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
And don't forget to provide an edit summery - for example 'Wikification' Tiddly-Tom 06:26, 30 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
Indeed, its 18:15 right now. I have had a MRI. Why did you have one for your shots? :S I like injections, I used to hate them though. I am impressed by your editing to articles, keep it up :) Tiddly-Tom 18:18, 30 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hey! You can find a log of new users here. Are you thinking of welcoming them? If you were, leave me a message and I will tell you how to use a cool tool to speed up the process :) Do you remember a few days ago you were tidying up some articles? It'd be great if you could work on a few more, as this will increase your experience of how Wikipedia works. You can find a list of them here. Good luck and I'll be along later to see how you are getting on :) Tiddly-Tom 10:41, 2 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

It's a tool called Friendly. It is worth reading the page I linked to, and it will explain what you have to do ;) Tiddly-Tom 19:45, 2 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
Unfortunately, no, it will not work in Internet explorer :( Tiddly-Tom 20:00, 2 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
You can download Firefox from here. I use it, and much prefer it to Internet explorer. Tiddly-Tom 20:06, 2 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
Ok, you don't have to install it, but you wont be able to use the tools without it. I can assure you that it does not install viruses onto your computer, but it may have compatibility problems and so if it has messed up your computers in the past, I recommend you don't install it. Tiddly-Tom 20:13, 2 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
Nope. Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Tiddly-Tom 06:25, 4 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
I think we probaly study the same type of stuff. Just I do three subjects, and you do two ;) Tiddly-Tom 19:49, 4 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

RE: Userboxes

edit

Hey. If you go into edit mode on your user page, you will find some writing in CAPITAL LETTERS within <!-- -->. This makes them hidden, so that when not in edit mode, they will not appear. In the line below the one that says TOP OF USERBOXES ON THE RIGHT you can change the word Userboxes to what you want it to be called. Do not change the one which says userboxtop - just the second appearance in the line. You can then do the same for the ones on the left. If you have any problems, just drop me a message. Tiddly-Tom 07:10, 8 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

At the top of each column of userboxes we put POSITION replacing POSITION with left or right and NAME with what you want the title to be. At the bottom of the user box column we put userboxbottom, give it a try and tell me how we get on. How do you like this signature: CherryBlossom93 If you do like it, I'll speak to the person who made it to make sure it is ok. Tiddly-Tom 17:55, 9 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
I stole it off of Leamarie411x2, a user whom I have adopted (on Wikipedia). I have left here a message to check it is ok. I could not get the userboxes to align center, so I suggest the best thing for you to do is split them into four colloums, having two left and two right. To make that signature, go to your preferences, click the RAW SIGNATURE box, then into the box above it copy: <font color="FF69B4">Cherry</font><font color="FF1493">Blossom</font><font color="FF69B4">93</font> . Click save and it should then act as your default signature. Tiddly-Tom 23:38, 9 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Re: awwwww

Hey Cherry, right now my signature is "spring-y" colours(as you can see). I changed it, not because I didn't want them to be the same, but because, with it being Spring now, and close to Easter, I would make my sig."Spring-y" and "Easter-y". I could change it again (I still have the code). Hope it's OK. Leamarie411x2 22:32, 20 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hey, I vaguely know what Emo is. Do you want your sig to be different shades of black? Leamarie411x2 22:35, 26 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

OK. Go to my Sandbox, because that's where I'll make it.Leamarie411x2 18:25, 30 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Signature made. Leamarie411x2 18:49, 30 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Cherry, simply go to Web colors. Scroll down and you will find a lot of colors you con use. Don't use white colors though. When you find a colour you like, copy and paste the number, i.e. "000000" makes black. Then, go to your preferences and put the new code in. If this makes no sense, pick out a shade of pink you like and I'll do it in my sandbox. Actullay, I'll give you permission to use my sandbox for experiments. So go to my sandbox ([[User:Leamarie411x2/Sandbox here) and copy YOUR sig code and then paste it directly underneath your other code that I made for you. When you are happy with your sig, copy and paste it into the "Raw signature" box in your Preferences. Let me know if this makes no sense.:D Leamarie411x2 01:06, 3 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
Tom left a message that I think is for you on my talk page. It's under your message asking me to make Cherry and 93 a darker pink. Thought you should see it. Leamarie411x2 21:28, 4 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hey. Could you tell me what paragraph it is? Is it copied word for word with no changes? Is it cited to the book? I don't think I would have noticed it, good work! Tiddly-Tom 16:56, 30 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ok, that is alot to be copied word for word, drop a note about it here and people should help sort it out. Tiddly-Tom 16:34, 1 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Try to re-write it, on your sandbox preferably, I'll check it and then we can swap it across. I'm not sure how quick I type, appears to be reasonably quick... too much time on the internet me thinks ;) Tiddly-Tom 17:06, 8 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Survey

edit

Hi CherryBlossom93!

I have put together a survey for female editors of Wikipedia (and related projects) in order to explore, in greater detail, women's experiences and roles within the Wikimedia movement. It'd be wonderful if you could participate!

It's an independent survey, done by me, as a fellow volunteer Wikimedian. It is not being done on behalf of the Wikimedia Foundation. I hope you'll participate!

Just click this link to participate in this survey, via Google!

Any questions or concerns, feel free to email me or stop by my user talk page. Also, feel free to share this any other female Wikimedians you may know. It is in English, but any language Wikimedia participants are encouraged to participate. I appreciate your contributions - to the survey and to Wikipedia! Thank you!
