"Chiefadin" is a modified English written and spoken dialect that stems from the language and usage of "Master Chief" in the popular internet series, "Master Chief Sucks at Halo 3". It is characterized by purposely using incorrect verb tenses and subjects and elongated vowel sounds, spoken in a monotonous voice. The nature of Chiefadin is random, as the speakers generally make up new words on the spot, and is therefore difficult to document a working dictionary.

The youtube video series, "Master Chief Sucks at Halo 3" was created by user DigitalPh33r under Machinama. The series takes a satirical take on the online community of the game Halo and portrays various stereotypes through the characters of toys based on the in game characters. The voice work is done through the Windows based "Microsoft Sam" and other similar voices in Windows and a few later characters are voiced by humans. The character of Master Chief, named apply "Chief" in the series, is characterized as an ignorant, immature, overly aggressive video gamer who cannot play his own game. His dialogue has severe grammatical and spelling errors, is entirely broken, and is often mocking and humorous. This is all of course done purposely to foil his character with the more intelligent character of the Arbiter, "Arbby", who tries to reason with Chief and often fails miserably. The crude dialogue of the Chief is ultimately what sparked the movement of "Chiefadin" and is the only known source of origin.

"Chiefadin" is at its roots is English, with mild to moderate changes. A common "Chiefadin" phrase involves using the wrong form of the verb "to be".

"I r a good person". Meaning, "I am a good person"

Under most circumstances, the sentence above would go under further transformation, resulting in obscurity.

In this example, incorrect spellings and a touch of leet speak are added, but the core meaning of the sentence is the same.
