Assalamu alaykum and hello. I love "new page reviewing". I also enjoy copy editing articles for clear expression and hopefully improved consistency. I have a wide range of interests, but seem mainly to edit articles related to my homeland Pakistan and to Islamic scholars and scholarship. I feel disappointed by entries that contain no references or that contain references which do not actually support the claims attributed to them (which is sadly common). I often delete blocks of unreferenced material. I also work hard to keep articles neutral, which is sometimes frustratingly difficult, especially when dealing with Islamic topics.

I used to frequently update Rotten Tomatoes ratings which were seriously out of date, but I haven't been able to find much time for this lately. I am also keen to reduce the excessive use of the honorifics / titles which clutter some pages (Sir, Lord, Hon., Dr, Rev, Hon, Sheikh, Maulana, Imam, Mufti, Sardar, Sayyid, Janab, Khawaja, Hajji, etc).

In good faith, I sometimes cut down long, unfocused and waffling articles, basing my edits on the wikipedia guidelines on including too much detail and on the wikipedia guideline on “being bold” while editing. I also sometime remove trivial information from pages. If I get it wrong in an article you’ve created or edited, or I revert you for what seems to be an invalid reason, please assume my good faith, contact me, and highlight your objection. To quote the Beatles, “we can work it out”.

Removing large quantities of unreferenced information from new pages

edit

The new page review is one of the last approval stages. So when I see a page with huge amounts of unreferenced information, and no {{In use}} tag to show that the page is undergoing a major build, I tend to err on the side of caution and remove the unreferenced information. The easiest solution is for you to add the tag to indicate the page is under construction. This prevents me and other editors from editing the page until the process is complete and the tag is removed. Please assume good faith of me, as I do of you.
