    Profile

    edit

My interests include travel, rugby league, Roman aqueducts, reading, perusing art galleries, cricket, castles, bushwalking, attending music festivals and gigs.

The subject of my first articles is the early history of Rugby League in Brisbane, Queensland. I chose this topic as there was scant detail available online, and there was an opportunity to make use of the National Library of Australia's Trove website, to access newspaper articles from the time. In the 1990's I helped research the history of my long-time cricket club, Narara-Wyoming. This involved scrolling through micro-film copies of the newspapers, so a lot of time was spent looking for articles. The search function with Trove is excellent, so one can get directly to an article.

The oldest surviving record of my cricket club is from 1898, which accounts for the latter part of my username. The first part is simply my name reversed, and also my nickname.

    Cheers,
