Nango?
editInputting "nango" leads to this page, but it should be known that there is a Japanese village by the same name, too. I think there should be a mention about that and the redirect should go to a disambiguation page. Thanks.--Sir Edgar 07:36, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
Trepang
edit"In 1932 some Japanese trepangers were speared by Yolŋu men after their mothers had been raped by the Japanese." Unless this has something to do with sea cucumbers, something needs to be changed here. Dekimasu 16:44, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
It does. Trepang, beche de mer and sea cucumber are different names for the same thing. kdelarue 10:18, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
Jewish law?
editI am mystified by the references to Jewish law - I totally fail to see the connection, unless there is some obscure meaning of the term with which I have previously been unfamiliar... kdelarue 10:23, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
- That was a relic of some earlier undetected vandalism. The article has now been restored to an unvandalised version.--cjllw | TALK 03:38, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
MAdayin and Magaya
editIt would be excellent if someone could go into more detail in the Madayin and Magaya as it is hard to interpret some things in that paragraph.
Is Magaya a heavenly state where if Madayin is followed correctly each and everyone moves onto Magaya? Or a real state of an ideal society in which everyone follows the law and lives in harmony? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Cee em bee (talk • contribs) 12:39:50, August 19, 2007 (UTC).
Fair use rationale for Image:Old aust one dollar note(back).JPG
editImage:Old aust one dollar note(back).JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Traditional Law
editThe traditional law is written down for all people to read and is easy to find with a google search. It is a harsh law, and does not fit with the current Western world view, but to omit this is to tell only part of the Yolngu story. Not reporting on the uncomfortable facts about traditional Aboriginal culture potentially hints to the reader that there is a lack of neutrality in this article. https://www.nswbar.asn.au/circulars/2011/jul/ngarra.pdf Alabama81bornandbred (talk) 10:49, 11 December 2017 (UTC)
- Just as under the aegis of English law, 600 distinct cultures were obliterated. What you didn't do is read the bibliography, where the article you link to is already mentioned and linked for editors to consult. The article, like all wik articles, is an article in progress, and eventually if no one else does, I'll get round to adding the material from George Pascoe Gaymarani's analysis.Nishidani (talk) 11:45, 11 December 2017 (UTC)
@Nishidani Ok great. Thank you for the reply. Alabama81bornandbred (talk) 11:28, 12 December 2017 (UTC)
Missing long-form citations
editKwamikagami – in this edit, you added two short-form citations (Webb 1933 and Elkin 1933) without adding their corresponding long-form citations. My script has flagged these as errors for some time, and they are now causing this page to appear in the (new) error category Category:Harv and Sfn template errors. Your edit summary states: "merge 'Murngin' articl", but there is no article at Murngin, only a redirect. Could you add the missing long-form citations, please? --NSH001 (talk) 18:49, 15 April 2020 (UTC)
Sure. Sorry about that. It was at Murngin people, actually. — kwami (talk) 01:29, 16 April 2020 (UTC)
Orthography - Yolngu or Yolŋu
editThis article seems to have extensive inconsistency on using Yolngu or Yolŋu. It likely needs an explanation and cleanup. Rob.au (talk) 05:38, 29 July 2024 (UTC)
