Notable accidents?

edit

The Wessex 5 that crashed on the Fortuna glacier during the Falklands war is not notable? /Esquilo (talk) 12:47, 12 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Already discussed at UK wartime operations. HLGallon (talk) 15:20, 12 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
IIRC, the lifting load limit of the Wessex was the factor that necessitated the maximum weight of the Land Rover Lightweight as it was originally required to be carry-able slung under a Wessex

I don't have a problem with stylistic changes, but claiming basic facts sources to the article with relevant pages is just not true. For example, including the dates from image article is standard practice, and basic info such the H-34 being the Sikorsky S-58 is clearly sourced on the relevant article. If you don't like the changes, just change it don't make unnecessary statements. For example, the Wessex involvement in the Falklands war is clearly documents in the article. So why not do it right? Add the citations to this article, as necessary. Also copywrite it so that it reads smoothly, rather than just dumping brackets onto it. The Wessex is a licence-built CH-34. The military CH-34 was also known as the civilian S-58. That's what's needed in this article. Andy Dingley (talk) 21:16, 7 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
S-58 is mentioned in the first paragraph of background, so it seemed like a safe area. In fairness, the brackets were already there mentioned it was included to mention Choctaw. As far calling it the H-34, rather then a two letter is a common practice despite it being used with many prefixes and designations. Some of these issues just get into common practices which I think go outside the scope of this article. I did not imagine basic information found in the article would be challenged Wikipedia:Citing sources, but since it has, I think that is very reasonable. And we can certainly add more sources to address concerns about the factual accuracy. A75 (talk) 22:05, 7 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
I was not aware the brackets were in issue as they were already in the article, but I am fine leaving the brackets out. I have tried to add some additional sources about background of this helicopter now, in response to your comments. Cheers A75 (talk) 22:23, 7 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
