editIsn't this a town, rather than a CDP? john k 20:22, 24 Nov 2004 (UTC)
Wasn't the great grandson of the town's founder on the Titanic? I recall hearing something about this. Dan P 15:28 11 Mar, 2005
- The town's founder was a somebody Smith (explains the name) and he had many descendants, so yes that is possible. I also heard that one of Smith's descendants married Stanford White. Wikiacc 01:55, May 26, 2005 (UTC)
Smithtown Central School District
edit
I propose a separate article for the school district, as there is a lot of information on this page, and a lot more to write about it. Any objections? Mazeau (talk) 04:12, 5 September 2008 (UTC) Never mind, it already exists. Mazeau (talk) 18:34, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
anatomically correct bull?
editIt seems that identifying the animal as a bull implies "anatomical correctness" in the usual US meaning of the euphemism. Emphasizing that aspect of the statue unnecesarily is distracting. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ggpauly (talk • contribs) 19:13, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
More than one bull
editLocal legend also has it that Richard Smith duped the Native American Chief by having other bulls strategically placed along his anticipated route in order to switch from tired bulls to fresh bulls, allowing him to cover more ground during the daylight hours and gain more territory for himself.Psudaddy (talk) 18:07, 25 April 2015 (UTC)
