Death
editNo valid source indicating he is dead. I don't think this is sufficient. Nirva20 (talk) 23:23, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
- That's not even the same Shi Ping, by all accounts he is very much alive. Zinderboff(talk) 08:05, 22 June 2024 (UTC)

Shi Ping (politician) → Shi Ping – I recently moved the page Shi Ping from the former aircraft designer to a disambig page due to him being not the only Shi Ping and with seemingly no clear PTOPC. However, this particular Shi Ping was a former politician, soldier and academic who held many notable posts in government and academia, while also being (supposedly) the oldest living person in all of China, seems to be the PTOPIC of this name (he is also the first thing that comes up when looking up Shi Ping for what its worth). - Oppose: if one of these two has a higher notability than the other, it is the aircraft designer, who was a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. -- Aspiriniks (talk) 18:01, 29 June 2024 (UTC)
Useful website
editThe website Longeviquest seems to have a significantly more detailed biography of the subject then this article has at the moment. The sources used in the Longeviquest biography could maybe be useful for further improvements of this article. Zinderboff(talk) 09:42, 22 June 2024 (UTC)

Shi Ping (politician) → Shi Ping – Shi Ping (subject of this article) is notable for historic (politician, soldier, academic as explained in above move request) as well as current (Was oldest living man for some part in 2024, first Chinese supercentenarian to be verified) reasons. Before a boom in his page views, the article still secured around 200 views daily. The only other Shi Ping on Wikipedia is Shi Ping (aircraft designer) whose article got 26 views in a period of 30 days and more notable to mostly Chinese readers only. Hence, this former politician-cum-supercentenarian should be the primary topic. I could better explain more for specific opposes. Thanks — ExclusiveEditor Notify Me! 11:55, 27 November 2024 (UTC)
- Support – I can't get WikiNav to work on the disambiguation page, but the pageviews are enough: Shi Ping (politician) consistently gets an order of magnitude more views than Shi Ping (aircraft designer), and in the last few months he's gotten two orders of magnitude more. I also looked at the pageviews with similar titles included (Shiping County, Shiping Tang, Shiping Zhu) and the politician is still the clear primary topic by views. jlwoodwa (talk) 16:40, 27 November 2024 (UTC)
