Please consider replacing the InfoBox image

edit

That image is a horrible first-impression image. I would highly consider re-uploading a different image. May I suggest if you go to the "Galaxy Note II" app within the "Samsung Mobile" Facebook Page for a great image that shows off the device as a whole nicely.

I am in the process of trying to upload a photo to my account (Samsung Galaxy Note II, Full View.png) that could be used...it is a screen shot of where I suggested to go above.

"May I suggest if you go to the "Galaxy Note II" app within the "Samsung Mobile" Facebook Page for a great image that shows off the device as a whole nicely" - That would not be a good idea. Wikipedia only accepts free content, that is libre (free as in freedom), not gratis (free as in free beer), and usage of such an image would be at conflict with the ideals of Wikipedia being a free encyclopedia. Usage of non-free copyrighted materials is discouraged on Wikipedia, and claiming derivative works of non-free works as free works is prohibited as well. -- 李博杰  | Talk contribs email 19:39, 26 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

While I noticed that myself...I still believe a better image is needed. That was more or less a suggestion, and the use of non-free content is NOT prohibited...but preferred not used, and when used, used in small quantity.

Nonetheless, my original idea still holds that the image is replaced.

Per WP:FAIRUSE, non-free copyrighted images are only permitted as long as certain criteria are all met, and this includes that a free alternative is not available, and cannot be made available in the future, which is not true for our case. This is the same reason why the Kim Jong-un article currently doesn't have an image either. Whilst fair use can be applied to articles such as Windows XP, as the logo and screenshot will never have a free alternative, this is not the case for the Galaxy Note II, and we already have a free image available, even though you might think that it doesn't meet your expectations. -- 李博杰  | Talk contribs email 02:38, 27 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thanks to the person that seen the low-quality photo of the Note II was not of any value to be included in this article. While having a photo present would be nice, a low-quality photo for any high-end mobile device seems inappropriate when all other related wiki pages have high-quality photos. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ciscorucinski (talkcontribs) 19:07, 27 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

If you go to Samsung's website for the Galaxy Note II you will see that one of those 2 logos COULD be used for the logo in the Info Box. If you go to several of the iPhone wiki pages, you will see that they have a logo in the Info Box which really adds to the wiki page. The iPhone 4 has a Logo which shows the source to Apple's iPhone website, and that could be done here.

Thanks to who ever did this request! Now this wiki page looks standard to other high-end mobile device pages — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ciscorucinski (talkcontribs) 19:04, 27 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

GPS?

edit

This article doesn't say anything about what GPS capabilities this phone has. Does it support GLONASS? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 155.140.133.248 (talk) 12:12, 9 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Yes it is. according to the AnandTech review. --Gene203 (talk) 08:51, 25 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

incorrect information

edit

in the introduction, is incorrect to state that "and storage capacity up to 128 GB", because the 64GB of external memory, can only be used for storing some user files, like images, videos, mp3, etc.... hence, installing apps is still restained to the main 16/32/64GB...

Wrong text in reference.

edit

In Reference 3, it says that 30 million Note II units have been sold, while the Galaxy Note II refrences says that there is 30 million Note III units are sold. That's incorrect. ICantChooseNow (talk) 16:02, 21 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
