The name Camel
editI thought the name Camel came form the cornish for crooked (Cam) estuary (hayle). Not cornish for elbow as the article states. Could an expert clear this up? --Benjaminevans82 21:46, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
"A Dictionary of English Place-Names", OUP, 1991, gives Camel (the river) as a "Celtic river-name (possibly 'crooked one' from a derivative of Celtic *camm)". DuncanHill 08:08, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
