Category removal

edit
  • Ceylon was never governed by the British as a part of India. So this battle should not be classified under the category of Pre-independence battles of India. Can I delete that category? --mkamat 14:07, August 24, 2005 (UTC)
I've removed it; wars shouldn't be categorized under "Battles of ..." anyways. -- Kirill Lokshin 00:58, August 27, 2005 (UTC)

SPELLING!!

edit

I cannot believe that entries are made without even basic spelling checks. How can this (Wikipedia) be seen as authoritative, if simple mistakes are being allowed. It takes no time (but some thought) to run the article through a spell check. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mstimson (talkcontribs) 17:30, 9 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Please delete that map. The Kindom of Kandy was much much larger than the modern Central province. It included the Central, North Central and Uva provinces as well as parts of Eastern, Sabaragamuwa, and North Western provinces.

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Kandyan Wars. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

Merger proposal

edit

I propose that British expedition to Ceylon be merged into Kandyan Wars. Since the latter is much more detailed and basically covers the same topic.--Catlemur (talk) 13:43, 9 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Added "for them" to "most worryingly", which makes for more distanced narrative. I do not understand why "hence Muslim" is perceived as worrying. Kandy was essentially Buddhist, but there was a Muslim fighting for a Buddhist war party. On the other hand, as an interested reader I would also expect Muslims, Hindus and Sikhs to have fought as sepoys for British forces. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.105.160.150 (talk) 13:28, 11 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
