Some "ISSUE"

Wikipedia is, no doubt, an unending source of awe.

Now someone has come up with an unheard-of type of "issue" and has even built a template for it. Its subject is: "A major contributor to this article appears to have a close connection with its subject." and is invoked by writing {{COI|date=month yyyy}}.

So, WHAT IS WRONG if a contributor has "a close connection" with the subject? Does this mean that a contributor must be completely disconnected, or better perhaps, completely ignorant of the subject in order for the article to be more legitimate? (this second hypothesis often happens) And further, can you imagine any rule as stupid as this one? --AVM (talk) 02:20, 2 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
