Merger?
editIt is likely that someone will suggest that this be merged with History of Kazakhstan or History of Central Asia, so I will anticipate. I was trying to write the clearest possible history of the nomads of the Eurasian steppe, which is notoriously complex. I found it best to split the history into eastern, central and western parts, with the center corresponding to Kazakhstan. History of Central Asia is mainly about the more urban areas south of the steppe proper. History of Kazakhstan is, in part, about the origins of that country. Merger would make the article more complex and break the link to its eastern and western companions. The eastern, central and western parts are sufficiently distinct to keep them as separate articles. Merging the three would make the article too long.Benjamin Trovato (talk) 07:46, 5 December 2017 (UTC)
