Content and appraisal of human interest articles
editReference 19 is behind a paywall and is therefore inaccessible. Not very helpful. Also, (my reason for writing) the article does not sufficiently cover the downside of using human interest in news articles or interviews. Doing this frequently masks the main points of the article and not infrequently fails to get over, or even coherently mention, what they are! Such articles leave the listener/reader unable to build a picture of what the issue being discussed was all about! The article badly needs to cover the downside of bringing humen interest into articles. I noticed almost a step change in the amount of human interest used in the UK's television media (mainly the BBC), in the 1990s. Repeatedly I found myself asking "Why this human interest, when they haven't yet hown what the topic is?" Bicyclic (talk) 08:16, 14 November 2024 (UTC)
