Sir Frank?
editI've seen him referred to as "Sir Frank Kermode" but our article makes no reference to this. Is he a knight? JackofOz 00:55, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
- I've found a citation for his 1991 knighthood. JackofOz 06:41, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
ISBNs
editWe are invited to provide ISBNs. Often a title has been through multiple editions. Which ISBN should be used, 1st ed, or most recent? How important is it to add ISBNs? E.g. Leon Edel has them, Edmund Wilson doesn't, Harold Bloom mixed. It's a lot of work if not really useful. Spicemix (talk) 21:58, 2 October 2010 (UTC)
- ISBNs or OCLCs are a form of independent verification as they link to a selection of databases to check the information. I have added a fair few using WorldCat to turn them into standard citation format. I prefer to add data on the first edition but it is possible to include a later edition year and 1st ed year (origyear) in the citation, see {{citation}}. Fæ (talk) 22:43, 2 October 2010 (UTC)
Thank you for this practical advice, it's very helpful. Spicemix (talk) 21:42, 11 October 2010 (UTC)

(help) Can anyone provide evidence? Spicemix (talk) 22:23, 10 October 2010 (UTC)
Pathetic
editThis is the most patheic entry I have ever seen in Wikipedia for such a major critic... and there have been some pretty feeble ones. Undoubtedly his sex life is of no interest, which accounts for such a lacking entry.

- Be Bold. Please make this article better by writing more about this important critic. 128.59.163.13 (talk) 20:45, 10 October 2012 (UTC)
Broken Link
editLink number 4, the citation for the quote "the best living reader of Shakespeare anywhere, hands down", is broken.
Mark Kermode (Film Critic) is not related to Frank
editMark Kermode the film critic is not the son of Frank Kermode. Mark Kermode was born Mark Fairey, and changed his name to his mother's maiden name following his parents divorce.

I'll remove the references from the Frank Kermode page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by DeweyLou (talk • contribs) 10:04, 12 November 2019 (UTC)
