Fair use rationale for Image:Toretto charger.jpg
editImage:Toretto charger.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

I have decided to provide a basic explaination to defend it. It is identifying The Fast and the Furious's use of the Charger to those who are less car minded. It is also possible that The Fast and the Furious article could be updated to include this picture in a critical analysis thereby doubling the reasons to keep this picture. Famous Chargers
editI must say I like the edit of 11/15/07. On other car pages it does not have all the appearances in video games, rap videos, movies, and the like.
The Dukes of Hazzard is a must-keep reference - because the car was the true star of that show.
Let's try to keep it this way.

- Move trivia to Talk, like in many other articles in wiki there are some "popular culture" is significant to the article. I support the General Lee" of Dukes of Hazard be the exception for the main article. LanceBarber 05:54, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

New Chargers
editI'm curious as to why there's no section on the newer Chargers.
- Because the new Chargers are not built on the B-Body. Look up Dodge Charger (LX) - it's all there.

Requested move 27 August 2021
edit- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: moved. per discussion consensus and COMMONNAME (closed by non-admin page mover) — Shibbolethink (♔ ♕) 18:13, 4 September 2021 (UTC)
- Dodge Charger (B-body) → Dodge Charger (1966)
- Dodge Charger (L-body) → Dodge Charger (1981)
- Dodge Charger (LX/LD) → Dodge Charger (2005)
– Current titles are total WP:JARGON which are strongly lacking in recognisability to anyone who isn't a Chrysler mechanic and thus are completely unhelpful to almost all readers (I imagine Chrysler mechanics aren't coming to Wikipedia to learn about Dodge Chargers). While it isn't immediately obvious what the best way to disambiguate these is, it would likely make the most sense to either disambiguate by the year these cars entered production, or to disambiguate by number of doors (ie. Dodge Charger (B-body) to Dodge Charger (two-door); Dodge Charger (L-body) to Dodge Charger (three-door); Dodge Charger (LX/LD) to Dodge Charger (four-door)) as these are both relatively recognisable to most readers. The current titles are meaningless nonsense and fail so spectacularly at the recognisability aspect of WP:COMMONNAME that they are obviously unacceptable. - Support It's more clear to readers without knowledge of the platform codes, and in line with other car models which had long breaks between each version, where "generation" isn't appropriate. --Vossanova o< 16:06, 27 August 2021 (UTC)
- Support the proposal to disambiguate the different types of Chargers by using their introductory year. The number of doors is problematic since the hatchback versions were marketed and known as having two doors. In the US marketplace, the rear cargo hatch is typically not counted as a door. The number of doors is usually those designed for passenger egress while those of trunk lids, hatchbacks, liftbacks, and tailgates are most often for baggage and cargo - and thus not in the total of doors.
