I don't know if anyone is watching this page - it was marked for cleanup and as a stub. I rewrote it from the ground up, and think both tags could probably be removed, but I don't want to make that determination about my own work. The main things that are needed at this point are more description about the main characters, and possibly a little detail about each movie/feature/series. (I don't think we need episode titles or episode summaries.) English translations of the novel titles would be good too, and naturally we should get a representative image for the upper right corner. It could use more expansion, but the cleanup and stub tags should definitely go. Good work! I've thrown up two images, too. -- Norvy (talk) 07:32, 16 September 2005 (UTC)Reply
Thanks! DenisMoskowitz 14:52, 16 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

I made some additions here and there anonymously before I'd finally registered with Wiki. I filled in some of the publication date information for the anime and the comics, added the latest (2006) novel, and put in translations of the novel titles. I figured I'd help out somewhere, since I got my attention called to this page when you linked to my site (thanks!). What other information do you think would be useful here? I could add some more details if it's felt they'd be worthwhile... ECNozmo 23:13 UTC, 29 August 2006

Please continue to add verifiable, notable data as you see fit. Possibly useful: more information about Kei and Yuri themselves; short plot summaries on the OVAs, movies, and comic series; episode titles for the series; verifiable comment and criticism if it exists. Kyouko Tonguu's real name is Kyouko Miyagi. BiggKwell 23:28, 3 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Have you got source (preferrably with kanji)? Shinobu 09:55, 16 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'm wracking my brain now as to where I read that about seven years ago. At least to start, here's her name in kanji: 頓宮 恭子 Tonguu Kyouko . (This is apparently not the "standard" reading.) That can be found at http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/頓宮恭子 , among other places. I will continue hunting for Miyagi Kyoko. Incidentally, I found messages from around 1993-94 at the Lovely Angels Mailing List that indicated that it was her husband who had been transferred to Milan, Italy in the early '90s, which is why she was not available when DPF was being cast. She had since returned to Japan. She still does some anime dubbing work, but most of her voice work recently is for dubbing foreign films. ECNozmo 22:08, 12 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

"I Honestly hate you" - first print date?

edit

According to my information, "I honestly hate you" was at some point in the past printed as a limited exclusive for some convention. I was unable, however, to find out when exactly was that.

Does anyone know what year was it? --The Fifth Horseman 17:11, 18 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

August 1994 in the third (annual) issue of the San Diego ComicCon Comics (see http://www.elenorecity.com/comix2.html ); it is reprinted in the 10th Anniversary trade paperback for Biohazards ; Warren also did one-page DP illos for the 1990 and 1991 ComicCon program books -- ECNozmo 04:46, 12 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:597.jpg

edit

Image:597.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Licensing

edit

Considering that the TV series has never been officially licensed, how come this entry says that not only does ADV have the license, but Bandai will have it in 2009? AstroNerdBoy (talk) 06:53, 18 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Splits

edit

Hey, guys, I'm surprised that Harizotoh9 split this page into several mini-articles (Dirty Pair (OVA series), Dirty Pair (TV series), Dirty Pair (light novels), Dirty Pair: Affair of Nolandia and Dirty Pair: Flight 005 Conspiracy ) but no one opposed to it and/or debated it. I mean, look at the pre-split version and opine if there was too much content to justify a split (see also: WP:SIZESPLIT). Now, for example, we have two articles with basically the same content—Nolandia and Conspiracy have the very same content under "Release", which in turn was copied from the pre-split version. Looking at the old version, I think it perfectly condensed all this media. I really don't know how the different media are related or not to each other, but right now I don't see their independent notability (in opposition to the quantity of reviews at the end of Dirty Pair Flash, for example). Gabriel Yuji (talk) 00:26, 17 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

I'm requesting the opinions of TheFarix, Landingdude13, AngusWOOF, Nihonjoe, Knowledgekid87 and DragonZero because all them edited at least once the split pages I'm proposing to merge here. And sorry for the inconvenience. Gabriel Yuji (talk) 00:29, 17 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
I would ask the following to @Harizotoh9:...
  • 1. Is each media work notable enough for a stand alone article?
  • 2. If things are duplicated why say the same things twice in different articles?
  • 3. Was a split really needed here? (WP:SIZESPLIT)
For the record I am not against splitting, but I agree with Gabriel on how it doesn't look like anything was gained by doing so. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 03:18, 17 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
Not enough content to warrant a split. Should be merged. DragonZero (Talk · Contribs) 06:55, 17 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
I suggest combining all the OVAs into one article List of Dirty Pair OVAs. That would cover Conspiracy, Nolandia, Dirty Pair 2 / Original Dirty Pair, and Flash. In the navigation box, this can be called OVAs. The light novels should be merged; I don't see any sourced content there that couldn't be brought into the franchise article, and the list of novels is on both articles anyway. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 20:16, 17 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
I don't think the OVAs need to be split into a separate article. I could see an episode article with summaries for each TV and OAV episode, though. Maybe List of Dirty Pair episodes. The rest of all of it can be merged back here and the other articles can be turned into redirects. ···日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WP Japan! 20:32, 17 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
Since List of Dirty Pair episodes already exists, just add the OVAs to it. ···日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WP Japan! 20:33, 17 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
Well spotted, Nihonjoe. In fact, it was in the list until Harizotoh9 split it ([1]). Gabriel Yuji (talk) 23:58, 19 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

I'm seeing a consensus right now. So I'll merge it in soon. But I'm willing to wait a few more days to see if anyone opposes the merge or can improve any of the articles. Thank you, guys. Gabriel Yuji (talk) 00:02, 20 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
