As far as I know: The warship battle in World War 2 was at the Danish coast in the North Sea, not in Denmark Strait.

The battle that included the Bismarck and the Hood did take place in the Denmark Strait. Look it up. --Bjarki 21:27, 12 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

You might be confusit it with the battle of Jutland which did take place off the coast of Denmark but happened in WWI. --Bjarki 21:31, 12 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

I can see why one name is the Greenland Strait, as it lies next to Greenland, but Denmark is pretty far off - how did it led its name to this body of water? --Badger151 (talk) 05:09, 21 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Greenalnd is part of the Danish Realm and Iceland use to be(until 1944). As either a part of the danish Realm or in a personal union with Denmark proper.94.145.236.194 (talk) 17:35, 22 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

If you look on a map of the world in 1800 or 1900, Denmark ruled both sides of the strait. 22:21, 18 July 2021 (UTC)
