Name pronunciation
editIt would be great if someone added an audio file of Mr. Sienkiewicz pronouncing his own name. --68.103.154.11 02:06, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
- Seeing as it's a Polish name, you could just refer to the article about Henryk Sienkiewicz.--83.238.196.151 13:16, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
- The pron. now is wrong- should be shi-en-kiev-ich —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.160.125.24 (talk) 17:02, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
- His name is pronounced sin KEV itch. It's been established in comics, interviews and periodicals like the Comics Buyer's Guide. Such a source is currently provided to support that pronunciation in the article. Nightscream (talk) 17:29, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
- The thing about America is that we constantly screw up pronunciations. I actually live really close to Kosciusko County, and most people pronounce it something along the lines of KOS-kee-OS-ko, and I've actually got a Polish name, which I pronounce like an English speaker would as opposed to a Polish one. If he pronounces it sin-KEV-itch, that's how we'll leave it. Supernerd11 :D Firemind ^_^ Pokedex 21:20, 8 May 2014 (UTC)
- His site (www.billsienkiewiczart.com) shows "sin-KEV-ich". I think that's definitive.75.141.98.19 (talk) 01:12, 8 April 2017 (UTC)
He's directly descended from Henryk Sienkiewicz, the Nobel Prize winner. Shouldn't the spelling of Bill's name be the same as his ancestor's?Kowalmistrz (talk) 07:34, 6 August 2020 (UTC)

SANK'S INFLUENCES?
editThis article doesn't cite any of Bill's influences. I used to have, but no longer own, a copy of Marvel Age, a in-house pulication put out by Marvel where creators or editors could discuss upcoming projects. In the issue discussing ELEKTRA ASSASSIN, Sienkiewicz talked about some of his influences. Neal Adams was an early influence, but as his style changed, Bill cited BOB PEAK, GUSTAV KLIMT and RALPH STEADMAN.Depending on the project, the influence of any one of these artists seems to become more apparent.MARK VENTURE (talk) 00:23, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
- Influences are indeed important in encyclopedia entries about artists. If you can find the issue of Marvel Age with the article, in order to give a citation and to confirm those inspirations, that would be great. BTW, it's probably better to ease up a bit on the ALL CAPS text. On the 'net, it's considered the equivalent of shouting. No harm, no foul. -- Tenebrae (talk) 01:43, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
