Nationality?
editHe's born in Luxembourg and he's Belgian according to the article, but he's French according to the infobox.--Diniz 14:37, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
- I seem to recall he raced under the EU flag, just to muddy the waters further ;) 86.130.129.145 17:56, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, the bottom photo here shows the EU flag on the side of his helmet! Confusing. Some more contradictions: F1 VHS season reviews - Belgian. AUTOCOURSE 1992-93 - French. Arrggh!--Diniz 14:04, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
- It is confusing. His nationality is French, but he raced with a Belgian License, as such, he is considered to be Belgian for the FIA. In all his racing, he has been considered as a Belgian driver.
- OK, I'll remove the contradiction message.--Diniz 20:16, 23 September 2006 (UTC)
I know he enters in races mainly as a Belgian driver with racing-license he took in Belgium, but think, in Formula One, he entered as a French driver because official Formula One website treats him so[1][2]. Cannot we treat him as both Belgian and French driver like French Wikipedia? (fr:Bertrand Gachot) --Morio 15:45, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
'his season was cut short by a court case in the UK.'
editThis seems almosty deliberaly opaque if this is correct:
