Is Alfred Aho really a Finnish scientist? Or is he a scientist who received an honorary doctorate from the Helsinki University?

There are rumours that he has Finnish origins, but I'm removing the claim of Finnish nationality until someone gets a reference. --TuukkaH 16:31:42, 2005-09-11 (UTC)
With a name Alfred Vaino Aho, it's pretty obvious his ancestry must be Finnish, but anglicanizing Väinö as Vaino suggests he's a latter-generation immigrant. Citation needed, of course. 82.181.37.203 (talk) 15:04, 10 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Data Structures and Algorithms

edit

I would like to add link to the review and TOC of this nice book: http://simpleprogrammingtutorials.com/book.php?ISBN=0-201-00023-7 "Data Structures and Algorithms" book review and TOC on SimpleProgrammingTutorials.com. I suppose it is appropriate link, which doesn't affect wikipedia external links policy, due to following points:

  1. Sites that contain neutral and accurate material that cannot be integrated into the Wikipedia article due to copyright issues, amount of detail (such as professional athlete statistics, movie or television credits, interview transcripts, or online textbooks) or other reasons.
  2. Sites with other meaningful, relevant content that is not suitable for inclusion in an article, such as reviews and interviews.—Preceding unsigned comment added by SPTWriter (talkcontribs)
That is a guideline, but OK. It reads 'cannot be integrated', but as you are linking to a book (which should be linked via the built-in ISBN link anyway), that sounds like a perfect reference to get content from. And it still is not a reason to add it only to the top of the list. --Dirk Beetstra T C 15:54, 24 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Biography Format?

edit

When I look up the biography of somebody I expect to see family information and maybe place of birth. None of this is there for Mr. Aho; the article just focuses on his "career". It doesn't even explain where the "Aho" surname comes from. Should Wikipedia have a standard format for biographies? 2001:558:6011:1:11B7:55ED:94CC:AC2C (talk) 21:27, 18 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
