editAccording to 'Environmental Science for Environmental Management' (Timothy O'Riordan, 2nd ed., Prentice Hall 2000), alfisols are named 'luvisols' in FAO.
- Correct, although exceptions prevent alfisols being truly synonymous with luvisols. Some aridisols classify as luvisols. Some vertic alfisols classify as FAO vertisols, lithic alfisols classify as FAO lithisols, etc. Paleorthid 20:06, 12 Mar 2005 (UTC)
Wait... what?
editThe page on Alfisols lists them as both the oldest and the youngest forest soil order. WTF?
