dead?

edit

As in the edit summary of the {{expert}} tag: "last website update appears to be 2004. Can someone with awareness of this field confirm death?" Actually, that's just the last update of their news page. (And hence the end of currently cited WP:RSS.) I haven't gone and checked the Wayback Machine. The page footer says updated 2008, but that doesn't really mean anything. Potatoswatter (talk) 05:31, 27 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

PSAs have been airing for quite awhile recently so I'm fairly sure it's not dead. Also there was one or two specials airing on the Discovery Channel that in whole or in part discussed the project. I can't seem to track down much information so I'll email/call around to see if I can find anything out. jgbaxterτ 00:33, 28 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Ah, [1] is a news article from 2007… quite hopeful but little definite assurance. Potatoswatter (talk) 05:40, 27 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Not even the Canadian Space Agency's web page mentions this project: [2] I used its search function and there is nothing on Northern Light or a Canadian lander and/or rover mission to Mars, only its collaboration with NASA's Phoenix. BatteryIncluded (talk) 06:21, 27 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
Yesterday I emailed both the Canadian Space Agency and Thoth Technologies for an update or signs of life. BatteryIncluded (talk) 03:09, 28 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
Hmmmm.... I wonder if I stirred the pot. Thoth Technologies just released this market wire: [3] "The next viable opportunity for a Canadian landing on Mars is in 2012..." BatteryIncluded (talk) 03:35, 28 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Argus 4000 Spectrometer

edit

Dear "24.138.105.210", please note that the official instrumentation page gives this description of the The Argus 4000 Spectrometer:[4]

"The Argus 4000 spectrometer is the primary science instrument for the Northern Light lander". Please do not list it again under the Rover's equipment. Thank you for helping with this article! Cheers, BatteryIncluded (talk) 14:19, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
