Mike Donnelly (American football)

Michael B. "Duke" Donnelly (c. 1952 – October 4, 2017)[1] was an American college football coach. He was the head coach for Muhlenberg College from 1997 until his death in 2017.[2][3] He also coached for Whitman High School,[4] Albany, East Stroudsburg,[4] RPI,[5] Ithaca, Lafayette, Buffalo,[6] and Columbia.[7] He played college football for Ithaca as a linebacker.[4][8]

Donnelly also coached track and field for Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Ithaca College.[9][10]

Donnelly died from Leukemia on October 4, 2017.[11][12][13][14][15]

  1. ^ Corey Goff served as acting head coach for the first five weeks of the season and the games are still reflected on Donnelly's totals. Following Donnelly's death, Goff served as interim for the remaining six games and finished the season 8–3 overall.
