The Hongqi H7 is a four-door executive sedan that is manufactured by the Chinese manufacturer FAW under the Hongqi marque. It is the successor to the Hongqi HQ3 built between 2006 and 2010.

First generation (H7; 2013–2021)
editThe H7 was first presented to the public at the Beijing Motor Show in April 2012, and officially went on sale at the end of May 2013.[2] The first 500 Hongqi H7 vehicles had been sold before launch to the Chinese government.[3]

2016 facelift
editAt the Beijing Motor Show 2016, Hongqi presented a revised version of the H7. In addition, a plug-in hybrid version was presented.[4]

News of a second generation model surfaced in 2019. However, the actual model launched later was named the Hongqi H9 which was more upmarket and sold alongside the H7.[1]
Second generation (EH7; 2023-present)
editIn October 2023, the EH7 was revealed as a mid-sized to large pure electric sedan. It is based on the FMSs platform architecture from FAW, with dimensions of 4,980×1,915×1,490 mm (196.1×75.4×58.7 in) and a wheelbase of 3,000 mm (120 in).
The EH7 is equipped with dual motors, with a maximum power output of 202kW/253kW. The combined power of the motors totals 455kW, generating a total torque of 756N·m. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) in 3.9 seconds
This car is available in a battery-swapping version and a long-range fast-charging version. The battery-swapping version offers a range of 600 kilometres (370 mi), while the long-range fast-charging version can achieve a range of up to 800 kilometres (500 mi). It utilizes a ternary lithium battery.
The EH7 is equipped with a 6+15.5-inch dual-curved screen and also features an AR HUD (Augmented Reality Head-Up Display) system powered by a Snapdragon 8155 chip. It also incorporates the HAP precision advanced driver assistance system.[5]
