Summary

Description
English: Map showing the territory of the Free Imperial City of Ulm. It was the second largest of the Free Imperial Cities after Nuremberg. Its territory of about 830 sq. kilometers included some 100 towns, villages and hamlets. Geislingen to the northwest and Langenau to the southeast were the two chief cities after Ulm. The inset shows the timber-rich lordship of Wain, a detached territory (exclave) located between Ulm and Biberach to the southwest.
The numerous circles that can be seen on the map are farms and villages that do not belong to Ulm but rather to neighboring territories such as the Imperial Abbey of Elchingen.
Map published by J. B. Homann, circa 1715.
