Possibly a Plaited Door Snail (Cochlodina laminata - Montagu, 1803) based on the discription of habitat and distribution found in A Guide to Snails of Britain and Europe Pfleger and Chatfield, ISBN0600557898. It seems that few species of Door Snail are found in Britain and most prefer limestone rock habitats rather than woods.
