English: Floor plan of the Bab Doukkala gate in Marrakesh as it is seen today. The image is based on the floor plan(s) published in Allain & Deverdun (1957, "Les portes anciennes de Marrakech) and in Wilbaux (2001, "La médina de Marrakech"), while also consulting Google Earth satellite imagery to check some details.
Note: the roofed/covered areas are shaded slightly darker than the open-air areas (white). However, the open-air space inside the gate, as seen here, is nowadays covered by a tiled wooden roof, which is visible in Google satellite imagery. Documentation of the gate in the 20th century makes it clear, however, that this space was not roofed over at that time. The roof was probably added in a recent restoration. Accordingly, I've drawn up the floor plan to portray this space as open to the sky since this reflects the historical state of the gate (even up to modern times).
