Contested deletion
editThis page should not be speedily deleted because as per the previous discussion held on this deletion, K. Annamalai of the BJP didn't have any notability and failed Wikipedia:NPOL and Wikipedia:BLP1E.
However, this criteria cannot be applied today as not only he is the State President of the world's largest political party but he is also a prominent BJP leader. He has gained a lot of traction in the past 2 months in India and in his state, Tamil Nadu through En Mann En Makkal Yatra (which was scheduled to be added to this page today) with all relevant resources. Therefore, this page should not be deleted as it is still a work in progress. FlyJet777 (talk) 05:21, 26 September 2023 (UTC)
- Being a regional party leader is not a notable position, and all the sources are only about his entry into that position. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 05:48, 26 September 2023 (UTC)
- This is just a recreation of the content deleted following Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Annamalai k and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/K. Annamalai (I.P.S), under yet another new title since Annamalai Kuppusamy, Kuppusamy Annamalai, and possibly others are protected. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 05:54, 26 September 2023 (UTC)
- A search on Google news suggests a WP:GNG-worthy volume of reliable source coverage about him in 2022-2023 - for example Annamalai and the art of political gymnastics, The News Minute, 8 September 2023. I think that FlyJet777 should try and incorporate this stuff - that could easily take two weeks. One solution would be to move the article to draft so that FlyJet777 can do this. -- Toddy1 (talk) 06:05, 26 September 2023 (UTC)
- @FlyJet777: Please can you move this article to draft. That way it will be protected from deletion discussions whilst you build the article to a point at which most people will agree that notability has been established.-- Toddy1 (talk) 06:08, 26 September 2023 (UTC)
- I believe this can be done so that everyone of us can reach a consensus. However, I will continue to add the events with references to this article as required by Wikipedia:Notability (people) so that the article can be made biography worthy. Thank you @Toddy1! FlyJet777 (talk) 06:17, 26 September 2023 (UTC)
- Draft or AFD? It should go to one or the other. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 06:32, 26 September 2023 (UTC)
- I agree with DoubleGrazing. @FlyJet777: Please move this article to draft. -- Toddy1 (talk) 06:47, 26 September 2023 (UTC)

Annamalai Kuppuswamy
edit@FlyJet777@Toddy1@Shaan Sengupta,OrthosKral (talk · contribs) has recently created Annamalai Kuppuswamy. DSP2092talk 07:11, 29 September 2023 (UTC)
- @DSP2092 it is the wrong name. I am moving it to the correct and common name. Common name is K. Annamalai. Since there is already a page by that name, I shall name it as K. Annamalai (BJP). If someone has more suggestions please feel free to do so. And I would suggest to merge the Draft with the article. It will help in expanding. Shaan SenguptaTalk 07:25, 29 September 2023 (UTC)

- Yes, I draftified it. There is no sign of notability. Articles (note the plural!) on this subject have been created and deleted so many times that several titles are now create-protected. Creating the same stuff on yet another title variant is tendentious. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 08:06, 29 September 2023 (UTC)
- When OrthosKral created their version, they seem to have copied-and-pasted content without attribution; if you look at that version it has lots of

where citations must have been in the articles they copied from.

- It is a waste of community effort to develop two draft articles on the same topic, so I have changed the younger one to a redirect and explained why at User talk:OrthosKral#K. Annamalai (BJP) moved to draftspace.-- Toddy1 (talk) 09:30, 29 September 2023 (UTC)

Article Improved
editThe article’s tone has now been enhanced, the language substantially improved and biased language has been removed from several sentences. Less reliable sources have been excluded, leaving only the most credible ones, in line with the principles of a neutral point of view (WP:NPOV). Non-essential information has been omitted, retaining only the crucial details when compared to the earlier version.
Regarding the article’s title, it should be assigned the name ‘Annamalai K.’ The other individual who was previously assigned this name now shall be moved to ‘Annamalai K (AIADMK)’ since he is significantly less notable according to the WP:GNG. - Vaikunda Raja (talk) 04:05, 13 March 2024 (UTC)
