Media Baby, Ltd., branded as Mediababy and Media Baby, is a media company that produces and distributes short video entertainment on social media. It was started in 2020 as a video aggregator by its current chief executive Justin Jin.[1]

Among the world’s largest youth-owned media organizations, the firm has accumulated 12 billion views as of August 2024.[2] Mediababy’s line of business includes holdings in video and music production properties, and advertising, which primarily target Generation Z.[3]

It operates on an outsourced remote work model to maintain profitability.[4]

History

edit

Jin began Mediababy in May 2020 through his YouTube channel, in which he uploaded Minecraft skits. He grew Mediababy slowly via acquisitions in the following two years, focusing on the production of memes.[5]

Later, Jin began outsourcing nearly 100 part-time video posters based in developing countries including Nigeria and Indonesia, a practice intended to decrease operational costs. This fueled an international expansion that allowed Mediababy to gross an estimated US$1.4M in 2023,[6] as well as a franchising of its brands into different languages. The expansion was characterized as “mass content creation chasing millions of views” by Investor Daily.

Mediababy rebranded to its current name in 2024.[4]
