History

edit

After completing his MBA from the University of Technology, Shah returned to India in 2002. His family owned a wire and cable manufacturing business in Ahmedabad.[2] However, Shah ventured into the beverage industry by founding Current Energy Drink, inspired by Red Bull. He teamed up with his former boss to start the company with an investment of ₹2 crore and launched an indigenously made energy drink.[2]

The business, however, did not gain much traction, and Shah shifted his focus to bottled water, founding Clear in 2010. The company operates under Energy Beverages. It began operations in Ahmedabad and later expanded its operations and distribution network to other cities.[3][4] Clear also entered the HoReCa sector[5][6] and General Trade (GT) sector.[7][8]

In 2023, Clear launched a natural mineral water brand called NubyClear (NU)[9] and became the official sponsor for Season 5 of the Tennis Premier League.[10] In December 2023, Clear acquired a 51% majority stake in Kelzai Secrets, a Pune-based company.[11][12] In March 2024, JM Financial invested ₹45 crore in Clear Premium Water.[13] The company operates two production plants and has 45 manufacturing units across India.[14]
