Heya @Cmrc23:, this will be your CVUA page, as you mentioned you're comfortable with the basics, it's more of a place for me to provide feedback and you to ask questions/provide feedback. Basically just a discussion page for CVUA related questions. Zippybonzo | talk | contribs (they/them) 15:07, 20 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I'll post a couple of things for clarification. If you see anything you'd like to discuss in my edit history, feel free to bring it up!
Sometimes I see inexperienced editors requesting changes by editing the article itself ([[1]]). I presume the way to deal with this is similar to how I did in this case?
I presume that in the case of User talk:WiggerWithAnN2, I should have instead immediately reported them to the admins, as it was a pretty clear case of WP:NOTHERE (though they got banned pretty quickly)
I wasn't entirely sure what to do with User talk:180.74.216.81 so after reverting one of their edits [[2]], I added some templates to their other ones [[3]] (one example of six) but I'm not entirely sure if that was correct.
I am worried about editor retention, so if the user appears to be engaging in good faith or is a new account (that isn't being blatantly offensive), I try to be a bit nicer, for example with the template:welcomevandal. I was curious if I could use this instead of a first warning, and then proceed to do a 2nd and 3rd and so on if their disruption continues. I worry that a big warning can scare some users off that might otherwise become good contributers
In this case [[4]], I chose to use a 4im warning due to the fact that I felt the IP was being deliberately offensive based on the subject's weight, and because falsely claiming that she died also seemed very innapropriate. Previously, I have only used 4im in cases of racist bigotry (and would do it with others if I saw them, but it seems that racism is more common). I wanted to make sure that I didn't go too far there!
I also decided to watchlist a few unprotected pages that seem like they might be targets for vandals. Not sure if that will actually make things any easier!
One last thing for this comment, I don't touch talk page vandalism because I'm not sure I'm yet comfortable with it! I suppose I prefer others to handle it because I hope they're better at it? Cmrc23 ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ 16:19, 20 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, one more thing! I requested rollback rights, do you think it would be a good idea to rescind my request for now? (and if so, how do i do that!) Cmrc23 ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ 16:23, 20 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
