(Regarding Tollana:)

You don't have to write links from one Wikipedia article to another as [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Article Link title]. You can do it simply by writing [[Article|Link title]]. (Without the "nowiki" tags, natch.) JIP | Talk 07:19, 24 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Your VandalProof Application

[edit]

Thank you for your interest in VandalProof, ThePoorGuy. As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact the just released 1.3 version has even more power. Because of this we must uphold strict protocols before approving a new applicant. Regretfully, I have chosen to decline your application at this time. Please note it is nothing personal by any means, and we certainly welcome you to apply again soon. Thank again for your interest in VandalProof. βcommand 14:36, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Women Convicts in Australia

[edit]

Hi, thanks for checking on the page about women convicts. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Female_Factory I changed the number of convicts to reflect the figure cited here "http://www.naa.gov.au/collection/publications/papers-and-podcasts/social-history/women-transported.aspx - There were at least 24,960 convict women transported to Australia.[i] More than 9000 convict women were in at least one of 12 convict female factories." You undid the change (which I should have referenced, sorry, as possibly vandalism -- but was unrelated to the other curious part of the page which said the women were sent to female factories for "saying hello". This probably was vandalism or someone's idea of a joke but was done by someone else in the distant past. So you can leave your change there but the update to the number of women convicts should stay. The old number was 9,000 which is way under what it was. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
