Disambiguation link notification for July 24
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Trochee, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Iamb. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Stochastic process article completely re-written
[edit]I saw that you commented on the talk page of the stochastic process article. I just thought you would like to know that I completely re-wrote the article. I hope I didn't delete any of you contributions, if you had any. I would also be open to suggestions of improving the revised article. Thanks for your time. Disambiguation link notification for April 4
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Venera 3, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Kvant (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Kvant
[edit]Hi Geoffrey. Disambiguation pages are designed to quickly get a user to the correct wikipedia page. You are right that it is plausible for someone to seek information on "Enterprise Kvant" and land on the Kvant disambiguation page. Unfortuneately, wikipedia does not have an article that mentions "Kvant" in this context. Sending a user to science and technology in the Soviet Union will not provide any information on "Enterprise Kvant" specifically, which is what they were seeking. Note that DAB pages are not search engines. I've tagged Kvant for cleanup in an attempt to get a second opinion. Hoof Hearted (talk) 19:16, 11 July 2018 (UTC)
I found a link to NPP Kvant on the Roscosmos page, and updated Kvant accordingly. Does that look good to you? Hoof Hearted (talk) 20:27, 11 July 2018 (UTC)
- Sure, NPP is научно-производственное предприятие, "research and production enterprise", so it's the same as "Enterprise Kvant". Geoffrey.landis (talk) 15:10, 13 July 2018 (UTC)

Thatcherite fallacy listed at Redirects for discussion
[edit]An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Thatcherite fallacy. Since you had some involvement with the Thatcherite fallacy redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. Exo-orbit
[edit]Hi Geoffrey. I've gone ahead and nominated exo-orbit at RfD: see Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2019 March 9#Exo-orbit. I agree with your rationale for deletion and it seemed the most straightforward thing to do. Your input at the RfD is welcome but not required. – Arms & Hearts (talk) 19:56, 9 March 2019 (UTC)

Eddington experiment
[edit]Hi there. A long time ago (in 2008!) you were kind enough to help out briefly at a draft I was working on for an article (Eddington experiment). As you can see, I finally got round to putting the draft in mainspace (partly because it is the 100th anniversary of the eclipse on 29 May this year). I was not sure what to do about the attribution for the edits you made. What I ended up doing (when I saw that you are still editing) was removing them and dropping you this note to invite you to re-add them (plus any other edits you might want to make!). I hope this is OK. If this should be sorted out another way, let me know. Carcharoth (talk) 13:46, 27 May 2019 (UTC)
- Excellent. Thanks for putting up the article. Yes, you should feel completely free to grab any text I'd contributed and put it in the article, if it makes a better or clearer article. Geoffrey.landis (talk) 13:55, 28 May 2019 (UTC)
