Second founding

[edit]

I replied on the article talk page - there is not the depth of quality material we require for a wikipedia article to require that the legions have their own pages. They are just not notable outside their fictional universe. Indeed, many of the current warhammer 40k articles need to merged or deleted. I estimate that within two months, we should have about half the current articles we have, maybe even a third. --Allemandtando (talk) 09:39, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

40k Transwiki

[edit]

Hi,

The 40k Wikia has restricted access to its import feature (see wikia:warhammer40k:special:import), so the manual method has to be used. Either that or you could try asking someone who has import privileges to do them for you. Chris Cunningham (not at work) - talk 07:56, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Garviel Loken

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Garviel Loken, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Terraxos (talk) 05:39, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for info, but I'm not really too concerned. Nemesis646 (talk) 11:17, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Snotling

[edit]

Hi there. I noticed that you made a contribution to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Snotling indicating that you think the article should be kept. Your comments don't appear to address the fact that no mention of the Games Workshop "snotling" can be found in reliable, third-party, published sources. As the AfD debate has been relisted to generate a more thorough discussion so that consensus may be reached, I thought you might like to elaborate on why you think the article should be kept, bearing in mind WP:RS. Many thanks. -- JediLofty UserTalk 14:43, 15 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the message, but I'd prefer to just sit this one out. For a more knowledgeable and relaxed Wikipedia- Nemesis646 (talk) 08:46, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Deletionists

[edit]

Hey, just a note: this place is a lot easier to work on when we don't try to make it into a battleground. the editors trying to delete 40k articles aren't doing that because they are evil or motivated by ideology. For my own part, I'm doing it because I feel most of the content and subjects aren't appropriate for a general encyclopedia and I feel that WP:N applies to these articles just as much as it applies to any other article. Things would go a lot easier if you helped me improve the 40K project by cleaning up articles and working on the core subjects. 40K can and should be an important project with a few GA/FA's attached to it, but we need to get over this business of fighting over deletions. The vast majority of the articles deleted will remain so because they don't meet the scope of this project. Please help us improve the ones that remain. Thanks. Protonk (talk) 16:16, 27 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just ask him to import stuff into the 40K wikia. He's done most of the past ones. Also, if you manually transwiki something, please add it to the log on the project page so we can keep better track. Thanks. Protonk (talk) 19:00, 27 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

On a similar note, you did a good job transwikiing by hand, the only issue is you should copy the raw text (from clicking the edit button on Wikipedia and copying what's in the edit box) rather than the text from the displayed article. I fixed it up (and I'll probably import the article later) this time though! In fact, there is an example on the 40k wikia here! --Falcorian (talk) 22:20, 27 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I did use the example, I guess the coyping went slightly wrong. Thanks for praise. For a more knowledgeable and relaxed Wikipedia- Nemesis646 (talk) 18:28, 28 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It's fine. Heck, I even did a full import this morning, so it's all fine and dandy now. ;-) --Falcorian (talk) 19:21, 28 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Project activity

[edit]

This message is a test to check to see if members of the Warhammer 40K Project are still online, active and interested in helping the project. If you are no longer interested in the project all you need to do is...nothing! If you don't respond to this I'll take your name off the list and you'll never here from us again. If you're the proactive type you can remove the name yourself or talk to me and I'll do it.

If you are still interested in helping out the 40K project or otherwise still want to be listed there you can say so in response to this message on your talk page or on mine. Alternately you can add our new userbox ({{User WikiProject Warhammer 40,000}}) to your userpage and I'll take that as a response. The userpage doesn't automatically include people in a category of members yet, but it might in the future.

We've assessed most of the articles in the project on the Version 1.0 assessment scale (the table on the project page should take a few days to update) but we need to push to get the core articles in the project up to GA status. Thanks for all your help. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help the project along. Protonk (talk) 20:59, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Hi, at Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge we're striving to bring about 10,000 article improvements and creations for the UK and Ireland and inspire others to create more content. In order to achieve this we need diversity of content, in all parts of the UK and Ireland on all topics. Eventually a regional contest will be held for all parts of the British Isles, like they were for Wales and the Wedt Country. We currently have just over 1900 articles and need contributors! If you think you'd be interested in collaborating on this and helping reach the target quicker, please sign up and begin listing your entries there as soon as possible! Thanks.♦ --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:41, 28 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
