Proposal

[edit]

I propose splitting the sections into Character dictionaries (字典) and phrase dictionaries (词典), a distinction commonly separated in China. -- 李博杰  | Talk contribs email 00:18, 22 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

That would make sense. I'll try to do so. (My apologies if I don't get it right.) —Ecw.Technoid.Dweeb | contributions | talk | ☮✌☮ 01:30, 22 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I will put it in userspace while I'm working so I don't make a mess of the articles using it. —Ecw.Technoid.Dweeb | contributions | talk | ☮✌☮ 01:33, 22 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It's at User:Ecw.technoid.dweeb/Dictionaries_of_Chinese. —Ecw.Technoid.Dweeb | contributions | talk | ☮✌☮ 01:42, 22 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Done! Will overwrite the existing one. —Ecw.Technoid.Dweeb | contributions | talk | ☮✌☮ 02:02, 22 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Looks brilliant. -- 李博杰  | Talk contribs email 03:44, 22 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Updated

[edit]

I merged data from Template:Chinese dictionaries, added from the Category:Chinese dictionaries, revised the layout, and sorted the categories chronologically. Any corrections or suggestions would be welcome. Keahapana (talk) 01:10, 31 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Updates

[edit]

I've added Chinese characters and publication dates, added a few specialized categories, and recategorized many of the traditional dictionaries that were erroneously in the cidian section (a distinction that didn't exist until modern times). I've used traditional characters for all dictionaries published before character simplification. For dictionaries published after character simplification, I've used the character set employed by the publisher on the cover, which is usually Simplified Chinese for dictionaries of modern Chinese, and traditional characters for historical dictionaries. pacificboy (talk) 22:19, 26 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
