Europe

[edit]

"Wii Software in Europe"? You sure? Recent Wii update on my EU Wii referenced WiiWare. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.132.182.143 (talk) 01:05, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I guess the final name for the service in Europe will be "WiiWare", too. There´s no official source that says something else. Neo, 08:26, 14 May 2008 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.153.120.74 (talk)

Seperate Channels from WiiWare Article

[edit]

Now that channels have been given their own area in the shop channel and are no longer a part of WiiWare, shouldn't they either be seperated or have the channel purchasing area moved to the Wii Shop Channel article GEM036 (talk) 21:46, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Definetly. Additional channels are downloaded from a different section of the Wii Shop Channel and have nothing to do with WiiWare. They are already talked about in the Wii Menu article and briefly in the Wii Shop Channel article. Also, the Games section of this article is very messy and needs to be redone. Piracy?

[edit]

I've heard that due to an exploit, Wiiware games are now being pirated? tsk tsk —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.166.78.9 (talk) 02:39, 19 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AFAIK, you can =\ Maybe add a section? or a part in Wii games? :E24.113.65.101 (talk) 06:39, 18 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Development?

[edit]

I have read various comments on development for this, anyone have information that would be useful to the article?

Saves?

[edit]

Anyone know if you can transfer save files from one Wii to another? 71.228.79.140 (talk) 10:47, 29 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Merge?

[edit]

Since WiiWare and List of WiiWare games aren't very big, I think a merge is in order. - A Link to the Past (talk) 02:57, 22 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The list seems pretty long right now, and it's only going to get longer. It makes sense to leave them separate. Unless you're talking about merging WiiWare into List of WiiWare games. It seems weird to not have an article about WiiWare, but it seems like the only way a merger can work in my opinion. (Guyinblack25 talk 13:28, 22 September 2008 (UTC))[reply]
My opinion, is that it should be left as is. The list is too long to include into this article and as guyinblack said, it is only going to get bigger. Salavat (talk) 13:50, 22 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Merging WiiWare into List of Wii games would be appropriate, because this article is rather small. It could be made into a lead for the List of Wii games, for Heaven's sake. - A Link to the Past (talk) 16:53, 22 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Note: Kung Fu Man left a comment at WPVG Talk, also opposing the idea of a merge. Salavat (talk) 14:26, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with his statements about WiiWare being able to be expanded. But at the same time, if it's merged, it can always be split up again. Just more work/steps to do. If someone doesn't mind dealing with it then I see no reason not to. However, it might be worth it to just research and expand the article now. Criticism?

[edit]

The criticism seems less to me like criticism of WiiWare than it is of Nintendo's management. Further, it's only critical of WiiWare with regards to Apple's success. Comparing apples and oranges doesn't seem particularly encyclopedia-esque. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.207.128.243 (talk) 15:02, 25 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Pricing

[edit]

From the article: "Nintendo will handle all pricing options for the downloadable games." This makes it sound like Nintendo has complete control over pricing of titles available through WiiWare. Yet the supporting reference states: "It will support a variety of pricing options".

Perhaps the statement should state something along the lines of "WiiWare allows a variety of pricing options for downloadable games." --118.209.235.22 (talk) 06:24, 26 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
