Content Question

[edit]

Would it be appropriate to list payroll information from an organization that offers payroll solutions such as ADP Major Accounts (http://www.majoraccounts.adp.com/index.html)? --TrisDG 15:03, 29 November 2006 (UTC)TrisDG[reply]

What is the plural of payroll? - Payrolls.

What's the plural of air?

Aires!!!! like Buenos Aires!!

I dont think that air has a plural, why would you need more than one? Unless you are talking about the molecules in air because several billions of those are needed but then you would pluralize molecules rather than air.

Agreed. Just like deer, one or more than... air is air. It is the amount that is measured. I have a drop of water, I have a cup of water. (FS) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.110.28.114 (talk) 17:55, 9 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes payroll is a mass noun, and speaks to an uncounted amount. A quantity can't be specified without resort to a unit. Eg. you can't have 1 payroll, but you can have one person's payroll, or an entire companie's payroll might be $10000000 p.a. 124.254.97.18 (talk) 14:52, 21 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Does anyone know about universal payroll, I ran into their website http://www.unipayco.com ? They a payroll company in marietta, just trying to get some insite on this company, looking to leave ADP.

Payroll deduction

[edit]

I've redirected Payroll deduction to this page, but maybe the deductions information could be sectioned together? Ewlyahoocom 18:54, 7 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

References

[edit]

The first reference is to a company that sells bogus payslips used (typically) for misrepresenting one's income to a prospective lender. Highly inappropriate here don't you think?Gmchamish (talk) 15:58, 30 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, that's why I've deleted all the links to those bogus websites. They'll probably pop up again, but oh well. 98.169.177.24 (talk) 21:58, 27 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Payroll Software

[edit]

When we speak about payroll, there has been a lot of softwares in the market for payroll calculation. I so that missing on this page so i added it. when an software is been discussed an example is been given as Payroll 360 which is a product which is used by around 10,000 and more people world wide and is a popular software. So i have added it. This is not for any promotion as this company is already a top leader in Payroll software. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mmtechnologies (talkcontribs) 08:50, 21 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

While mentioning that software applications exist may be appropriate, your addition was an apparent WP:COI and clearly worded as an advertisement. No need to mention a specific product, and a neutral third-party reliable source would be more suited as a reference for mention of payroll software. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 15:12, 21 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

what are the challenges that mostly occur in payroll — Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.241.164.242 (talk) 10:06, 17 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This article seems to be mostly American

[edit]

“Weekly payrolls have 52 40-hour pay periods per year and includes one 40 hour work week for overtime calculations.”

I’m not in a position to fix this as I’m not experienced enough with Wikipedia, but the 40-hour pay week is either an American thing, or it’s fictitious or speculative. Certainly in Australia, we may work 37.5 hours per week, or 35. 40 hours seems to relate more to a Dolly Parton song than an international reality. Pickles8 (talk) 13:15, 19 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Reduced

[edit]

There was much duplication and many generic statements that added nothing, so I have boldly reduced the article. The article still needs further work and non-US input, but I am losing the will to live — GhostInTheMachine talk to me 11:19, 12 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
