Split

[edit]

This article should be split one for each ship. Hue White (talk) 20:12, 27 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No, it's a single ship that has had multiple names over its career. Standard practice is to name the article after the most recent or last name the ship was known under, with redirects from the other names. Any discussions on changing this practice should be directed to WT:SHIPS, as a change in how these situations are handled would directly impact a large number of articles. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 20:17, 27 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oh - wait - maybe I misunderstood. I thought you were wanting to split out each name the current Prinsendam has been known under into its own article - that would go against past practice. But were you actually talking about splitting out the "Past Prinsendam" into its own? In that case, I agree - as that was a different ship. --- Barekкороче кака
