Missing information
[edit]The page about Byzas, founder of Byzantium, mentions that he was the grandson of Io. Should this information be included here? Albmont 22:16, 27 February 2007 (UTC) no —Preceding unsigned comment added by 200.122.151.210 (talk) 17:24, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
In the family tree, I do not see Proetus (twin of king Acrisius) included. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Oceanblueeyes87 (talk • contribs) 15:09, 16 February 2015 (UTC)
The page mentions that Ovid's 'The Methamorphoses' includes the version of the story where Io passes the strait that connects Propontis with Black Sea. I couldn't find any mention of this version in Kline's translation of The Methamorphoses. (http://tikaboo.com/library/Ovid-Metamorphosis.pdf ) However, this is a very common version of the story, I thought correct source should be given, it is in APOLLODORUS, LIBRARY 2 ,(http://www.theoi.com/Text/Apollodorus2.html)

interesting image for future development
[edit]If the article should ever delve into the whole "Io in Egypt" thing, here is an intriguing wall painting from the Temple of Isis in Pompeii. Very dense iconography. Cynwolfe (talk) 18:58, 17 November 2010 (UTC)
Different fathers
[edit]The article on Asopus says "Apollodorus (2.1.3) refers to Ismene daughter of Asopus who was wife of Argus[disambiguation needed] to whom she bore Iasus, the father of Io." I think this should be added to this article for completeness. Io's fathers are different.

Lead rewrite needed
[edit]This article has a lead followed by a section titled "Legend" that picks up where the lead left off. The lead is supposed to be a summary of the article's main points, not the first paragraph in the narrative. This needs to be rewritten with a proper lead. Rissa, Guild of Copy Editors (talk) 22:50, 17 August 2015 (UTC)
I have written a short lead and incorporated the old lead text into the bulk of the 'Legend' section. Is this enough, or is more of a lead required? Caeciliusinhorto (talk) 10:32, 4 October 2015 (UTC)

"Her mistress Hera set ever-watchful Argus Panoptes" In the opening Parragraph should probably be "sent" rather than "set".

Herodotus
[edit]No mention of Herodotus mentioning the kidnap of Io by phonecians as the root reason of the Persian Wars. 2603:8000:C33E:C37B:6C07:BDA0:2F64:84E (talk) 19:05, 5 March 2022 (UTC)
