moving

[edit]

If you're thinking of moving this article to Famine Early Warning Systems Network, please google occurrences of the two titles and see that FEWS NET, or FEWSNET, are how it is referred to. - BanyanTree 14:15, 12 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As an employee of FEWS-NET, I can tell you the following: We are offically the Famine Early Warning System, however typically we are called FEWS-NET or inappropriately FEWS. Further, the Central American countries that are part of our monitoring are not part of FEWS-NET, but something else: Mesoamerican Food Security Early Warning System, or MFEWS. In addition, the NOAA branch of FEWS-NET also does other humanitrian monitoring. LEWS (Livestock Early Warning System) and the AFN (Asian Flood Network) among others. FEWS-NET also has other partners besides USAID, NOAA and USGS. These include Chemonics, NASA, and USDA. More nations are members than are listed at fews.net. --User:Unknown 17:21, 20 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What happened to the Network at the end of Famine Early Warning System, per your official literature? - BanyanTree 20:44, 20 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What happened is I forgot to type it... oops. --User:Unknown 14:12, 22 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I'm willing to ignore the Google test in favor of an official name. Moved. - BanyanTree 02:47, 25 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
