I have only been able to find references to fairy shrimp in vernal pools. If someone knows better, please correct Rsduhamel 08:39, 29 Dec 2004 (UTC)

I noticed that vernal pool fairy shrimp redirects to fairy shrimp, effectively linking this page to itself. I suggest we change [[vernal pool fairy shrimp]] to [[vernal pool fairy shrimp&action=edit|vernal pool fairy shrimp]]. Daniel 19:37, 17 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

As far as I know, fairy shrimp are only found in vernal pools or similar temporary pools of water. If they are found in more permanent water, they are brine shrimp. BlankVerse 01:04, 18 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The article also omits discussion of the Fairy Shrimps of other parts of the world. For example, here in my home country (UK), we have a species, Chirocephalus diaphanus, which is restricted to the New Forest and environs, and which is endangered. It too is an inhabitant of temporary bodies of water. Calilasseia 04:59, 8 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have found what appears to be fairy shrimp in permanent bodies of water. I have found them in Sacramento Valley sloughs. I have also found them in central coast farm ponds. I removed a piece of water logged branch which had fairy shrimp on it. I placed it in an a fresh water aquarium as decoration. After I removed most of the fish, I noticed that the fairy shrimp had survived and multiplied in the gravel. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.45.126.249 (talk) 21:46, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Do you think you could bring a sample to a university to have identified?23.16.152.103 (talk) 21:30, 12 May 2012 (UTC)BeeCier[reply]

Brine Shrimp?

[edit]

There's a paragraph talking about brine shrimp along with a picture of red ponds. I think that stuff is meant for the page about brine shrimp and not fairy shrimp. 2604:2D80:6305:600:347A:8078:BEDF:5532 (talk) 22:11, 3 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
