Shishira (season)

The festival of Pongal is celebrated in the season of Shishira

Shishira (Sanskrit: शिशिर, romanizedŚiśira) is the season of winter in the Hindu calendar.[1] It comprises the months of Pausha and Magha or mid-January to mid-March in the Gregorian calendar.[2]
