Summary

Description "Release No. 1-66: SALVAGING A VIET CONG JUNK SUNK BY COAST GUARD: At Hon Heo, South Vietnam, U.S. Coast Guard 82-footer POINT YOUNG acts as support vessel for Navy divers and Coast Guard personnel working to raise the first Viet Cong junk that was sunk in the Gulf of Thailand by a Coast Guard 82-footer in September of 1965. The 20-foot junk had attempted to ram the 82-footer USCGC POINT GLOVER, which retaliated with machine gun fire that stopped and sank the junk."
