Description
English: Sodium glows in a very specific yellow. A common application for this are sodium vapor lamps, which are often used as street lights, like the one shown here. Those spend relatively little energy, give a good contrast and are more compatible for nocturnal insects.
Deutsch: Natrium leuchtet in einem sehr spezifischen Gelb. Eine gängige Anwendung dafür sind Natriumdampflampen, die häufig zur Straßenbeleuchtung eingesetzt werden, wie die hier gezeigte. Diese verbrauchen relativ wenig Energie, geben einen guten Kontrast und sind für nachtaktive Insekten verträglicher.
