Summary

Description
English: World War I "doughboy" 1930 statue, by Arthur Ivone, atop the Ohio World War Memorial, erected in 1930 at the Ohio Statehouse, the name for the state capitol used locally, in Columbus, Ohio. The doughboy term's origin is obscure, but one explanation is that the large buttons on the men's uniforms looked like the doughy dumplings eaten in soup.
