Good Partner (Korean: 굿파트너) is a 2024 South Korean television series written by Choi Yu-na, co-directed by Kim Ga-ram and Ahn Ji-sook, and starring Jang Na-ra, Nam Ji-hyun, Kim Jun-han, Pyo Ji-hoon, Ji Seung-hyun, and Han Jae-yi . It aired on SBS TV from July 12, to September 20, 2024, every Friday and Saturday at 22:00 (KST). It is also available for streaming on Wavve and Netflix in South Korea and on Viki and Viu in selected regions.
Synopsis
[edit]Cha Eun-kyung, a star lawyer whose divorce is her calling, and Han Yu-ri, a new lawyer whose divorce is her first time. It captures in a realistic and direct way the big deals and dilemmas that occur when people face an unexpected breakup that was not in their life plans and the moment their family breaks up. The story of divorce lawyers trying to choose the best option in the cruel balance game of life provides empathy and catharsis.

- A star lawyer whose 'vocation' is divorce. She is a veteran lawyer with 17-year experience that everyone recognizes, and a straightforward and feisty person.
- Nam Ji-hyun as Han Yu-ri[3]
- A newbie lawyer who is experiencing divorce for the first time. Unable to tolerate injustice, she constantly clashes with Eun-kyung, who believes that the company's interests come first and that a true lawyer must fulfill the role of a representative even if the client has done something wrong.
- Kim Jun-han as Jung Woo-jin[3]
- A lawyer who is Eun-kyung's junior and the leader of divorce team 2 at Daejeong Law Firm. He has a gentle charisma that alternates between affection and coldness. He's the one Eun-kyung trusts.
- Pyo Ji-hoon as Jeon Eun-ho[3]
- An optimistic lawyer who believes in 'working love balance'. He became Yu-ri's dedicated marker after receiving orders to prevent the frequent departure of new members from the divorce team.
- Ji Seung-hyun as Kim Ji-sang[4]
- Eun-kyung's family-oriented husband and a man on the edge. He is also a medical consultant at Daejeong Law Firm and willingly throws himself into 'Cha Eun-kyung Care' for the sake of his bulldozer wife's dreams and a happy family, but their tired and crumbling relationship begins to falter when a crisis hits.
- Han Jae-yi as Choi Sa-ra[4]
- Eun-kyung's secretary of ten years. She rose through the ranks from secretary to legal writing assistant, a position that even the cold-hearted Eun-kyung recognized.

- A presiding judge with a calm personality despite being in court every day and assess the situation with wise judgment.
Production

[edit]The series was written by Choi Yu-na, a divorce lawyer and writer, who is well known to the public through the divorce empathy Instatoon[note 1] Marriage Red, and directed by Kim Ga-ram, who worked on The Vampire Detective (2016), Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency (2019), and Nevertheless (2021). Studio&NEW and Studio S managed the production. Filming began in early 2024.[9]
Casting
[edit]In January 2024, Jang Na-ra, Nam Ji-hyun, Kim Jun-han, Pyo Ji-hoon, Ji Seung-hyun, and Han Jae-yi were officially cast for the series.[10][11]
Release
[edit]Good Partner was confirmed to be broadcast on July 12, 2024, and would air every Friday and Saturday at 22:00 (KST).[12][13] It is also available to stream on Wavve, Netflix, Viki, and Viu.[14][15][16]
