Bannalec (French pronunciation: [banalɛk]; Breton: Banaleg) is a commune in the Finistère department in the Brittany region in northwestern France.[3] Bannalec station has rail connections to Quimper, Lorient and Vannes. Bannalec is twinned with the Irish town of Castleisland.

Bannalec has an oceanic climate (Köppen climate classification Cfb). The average annual temperature in Bannalec is 12.0 °C (53.6 °F). The average annual rainfall is 1,221.0 mm (48.07 in) with January as the wettest month. The temperatures are highest on average in August, at around 18.1 °C (64.6 °F), and lowest in January, at around 6.3 °C (43.3 °F). The highest temperature ever recorded in Bannalec was 38.0 °C (100.4 °F) on 9 August 2003; the coldest temperature ever recorded was −10.9 °C (12.4 °F) on 2 January 1997.

Breton language
